A second half surge, particularly in the fourth quarter by Collin College was the difference in the Vikings first loss in conference play; 62-58 in a matchup of the top two teams in the NTJCAC.
It was a back and forth first half with neither team leading by more than a handful. Iv Jackson gave the Vikings a two point lead late in the first half on a three and Grayson took a four point into the locker room.
Collin flipped the script in the third quarter, outscoring Grayson by six as they took a two point lead. In the fourth quarter, Collin used an 8-2 scoring run to take control of the game, as the Grayson offense didn't have their first field goal until 4:30 into the quarter. Dree Johnson's layup ended the scoring drought, but it wasn't enough to overcome as Collin handed Grayson their first loss.
Jaycee Ingram led the team with 19 points and nine rebounds. Tay Biglow added 10 points for the Vikings, who fell to 6-1 in conference play. They'll be back at home on Saturday, taking on Southwest Christian. Tip-off is set for 2pm.
