Vikings flex muscle in DH sweep of NCTC

The Vikings flexed their muscle, outscoring NCTC 23-1 in the DH sweep on Saturday, April 27.

Game one

Sloan Barrett led off the game with a single, and it was off to the races for the Viking offense. Tyler Brodrick doubled, scoring Barrett, and Brandon Seidmeyer launched a two run blast for an early 3-0 lead, but they weren't done quite yet. 
John Maldonado Jr reached on an error, stole second and scored on a single by Mason Ruiz, pushing the lead to 4-0 at the end of the first inning. 
NCTC scored a run in the third to cut the lead to 4-1, but the Vikings responded right back when Walker Polk hit a three run home run to left to extend the lead to 7-1.
Mason Ruiz added a two run home run to make it 9-1. Brodrick plated his third run of the day with a single, and Barrett ended the game in the fifth with an RBI double off the wall in left to give the Vikings the 11-1 victory. Barrett, Polk, Brodrick and Ruiz all had two hits each to lead the way offensively. Polk and Ruiz each drove in three runs. 
Bosten Dwinell, Beau Beaty and Cade Sharp combined on the five inning victory.

Game two

The offense picked up right where it left off in game one. Barrett started the game with a single, Polk drew a walk, and Brodrick hit a three run blast to make it an early 3-0 lead. Seidmeyer followed with a triple, and later scored on a wild pitch. Maldonado Jr and McCarthy both drew walks, and scored on a two run double from Kain Sanchez to help the Vikings lead 6-0 at the end of the first inning. 
In the second inning, Seidmeyer, Maldonado Jr and McCarthy all drew walks to load the bases. Ruiz worked the five pitch walk to score a run and it was a 7-0 lead in the second inning.
In the third inning, Sanchez led off with a double, and Barrett worked the walk. Polk followed with a two run single to make it a 9-0 lead. Barrett followed with a two run double in the fourth inning to score Ruiz who was hit by a pitch, and Jackson Harrell who singled. Seidmeyer worked a bases loaded walk, and the pitching shut the door in the fifth to take the 12-0 victory. 
Barrett finished 3-3 with a pair of RBI, Polk and Sanchez also drove in a pair. Brodrick dorve in three. 
Grady Moore threw the complete game shutout, giving up just one hit and striking out five. 

The Vikings close out the regular season against Temple on Wednesday. First two are at Grayson, beginning at 12 pm on May 1.
