Five Vikings headline All-Conference Team

With their season now concluded, the Grayson Viking Baseball team had five players earn All-Conference Accolades; two of which earned All-Region Honors.

Shortstop Sloan Barrett was a First Team All-Conference Selection and an All-Region 5 North selection. A red-shirt freshman from Harrison, AR, Barrett concluded the regular season with a .396 batting average, with one home run and 34 RBI predominantly from the leadoff spot. His .493 on base percentage was second on the team, while his 21 stolen bases, 57 runs scored and 72 hits all led the Vikings. 

Outfielder Walker Polk was a First Team All-Conference Selection and All-Region 5 North selection. Polk, a sophomore from Coppell finished the regular season with a .310 batting average. He led the team in home runs (nine) and tied for second on the team with 41 RBI. Polk had 11 doubles, and was first on the team with a .606 slugging percentage. Polk will take his talents to Austin, committing to play baseball at the University of Texas. 

Outfielder Tyler Brodrick was a Second Team All-Conference Selection. The sophomore from Saratoga, CA played in every game this season in centerfield. Brodrick hit .377 in the regular season with three home runs and tied for second on the team with 41 RBI. He stole 14 bases, recorded 57 hits and had a .500 on base percentage. Brodrick committed to play baseball at Oral Roberts University in the fall. 

Second baseman John Maldonado Jr was a Second Team All-Conference Selection. Maldonado Jr, a sophomore from Kaufman hit .301 in the regular season with a home run and 32 RBI. He eclipsed 47 hits, and stole four bases.

Pitcher Chase Davis was a Second Team All-Conference Selection. A red-shirt freshman from Mongomery, Davis appeared in 15 games in the regular season, finishing with a 4-1 record with one save for the Vikings. He threw 26.1 innings, and recorded 32 strikeouts with a 2.73 ERA.
